When you arrive at Kathmandu Airport, someone from Trekking Planner will be there to welcome you and take you to the hotel. After freshening up, your guide will show you around Kathmandu Durbar Square for half a day. Later, return to the hotel and get ready for dinner with a cultural program. Spend the night at the designated hotel.
Today, enjoy a whole day exploring Buddhist and Hindu sites in Kathmandu. Visit places like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swyambhunath (also known as the monkey temple), where holy monkeys live. Explore Pashupatinath, a sacred Hindu temple by the Bagmati River. Afterward, head to Boudhanath stupa, one of the world’s biggest and oldest stupas. In the afternoon, there will be a meeting at the hotel with your trekking guide. Our representative will brief you about the trek and give you a chance to ask any questions. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.
After breakfast, embark on a 1-hour drive from the hotel to Sundarijal, the starting point of your trek. The trail takes you uphill through a dense forest of oak, pine, and rhododendron, following a water pipe supplying Kathmandu. Reach the ridge of Burlang Bhanjyang (2442m) for panoramic views from Annapurna in the west to Ganesh Himal and Numbur in the East. Descend through oak and rhododendron forests, cultivated fields, and meadows to reach Chisapani. Spend the night at the tea house.
Chisapani offers breathtaking views of Dorgelakpa and the Langtang Himalayan range. After breakfast, trek downhill for about one and a half hours to reach the Tamang village of Pati Bhanjyang. From there, ascend to cross a pass at 2470m, then descend to Gul Bhanjyang, another Tamang village. The trail climbs again to a pass at 2620m before descending to Khutumsang. Marvel at splendid views extending from the Annapurna and Manaslu in the west to Numbur in the East. Spend the night at the tea house.
Starting from Khutumsang, the trail ascends through a forest with stunning views of Numbur, Jugal Himal, and numerous snow-capped peaks. As you reach a ridge, a short descent leads you to Mangan Kharka at 3285m. The trail then gradually gains altitude through pine and rhododendron forests, offering panoramic views of the Helambu valley and Jugal Himal. Finally, arrive at Tharepati for an overnight stay.
Starting from Tharepati, the trail descends to a stream and ascends along the ridge through rhododendron and juniper forests, reaching Ghopte at 3359m. From Ghopte, ascend again to Phedi. This trek provides captivating views of the Laurebina Pass. Spend the night at the tea house.
The trail ascends continuously to Laurebina Pass at 4610m, passing four small lakes before descending through rugged terrain to reach Gosaikunda. Gosaikunda comprises three sacred lakes – Saraswati Kunda, Bharavi Kunda, and the particularly sacred Gosaikunda. This third lake is a pilgrimage site in summer, believed to be created by Lord Shiva himself. According to legend, Shiva pierced a glacier with his trident to obtain water after drinking poison during the churning of the ocean by “Suras” and “Asuras” for ambrosia. Spend the night at the tea house.
Starting from Saraswati Kunda, the trail ascends to a ridge with splendid views across Langtang valley to Langtang Lirung. To the west, enjoy dramatic views of Himalchuli, Ganesh Himal, and Manaslu. Descend from this ridge to Sing Gompa via Laurebina, where you’ll find a small monastery and a cheese factory. Spend the night at the tea house.
After breakfast, descend through the forest of oaks, firs, and rhododendrons all the way to Dhunche. Dhunche serves as the district headquarters of Rasuwa. Spend the night at the tea house.
After an early morning breakfast, your guide will accompany you to the bus station for a scenic countryside drive back to Kathmandu. The road may be bumpy until Betrabati Bazaar, but it improves thereafter. Spend the night at the hotel.
