Climate and Weather Overview

The climate in the Humla Limi Valley region exhibits significant variations depending on the season and altitude. Optimal trekking months are typically March to May (spring) and September to November (autumn), characterized by bright and dry weather.

In the lower altitudes, temperatures during the trekking season hover between 15 to 25 degrees Celsius, providing a warm and pleasant experience. However, as you ascend to higher elevations, expect a dramatic drop in temperature, often reaching freezing levels, especially at night.

Winter months (December to February) bring sub-zero temperatures and heavy snowfall to the region, rendering trekking challenging and sometimes impractical. Monsoon season (June to August) is not advisable for trekking due to excessive rain leading to landslides, floods, and muddy and perilous paths.

Be prepared for unpredictable weather conditions during the trek. It’s recommended to carry warm, waterproof clothing to brace for temperature drops, strong winds, and snow. Additionally, stay vigilant for signs of altitude sickness and take necessary precautions to prevent it.
